Dabbling Duck Re-Opening

As we re-open post lockdown, we have had to temporarily limit our menu and opening times. We are serving food all day 7 days a week, last table bookings are at 8.30pm, as per the goverment guide lines we have to close our doors at 10pm, please understand this is something that has been forced upon us and we still aim to provide a top eating and drinking experience.  We run our takeaway service everyday , but only pizza on Friday and Saturdays ( please place pizza and takeaway food orders through our website ) . We have SAMPLE mens for you to take a look at, but please know these are just samples and do change.  As the situation is ever changing we ask,  if you have any questions, to contact us directly for up to date information. Thank you for your patience and please bear with us as we all get used to this new normal and hopefully we will get back to our full service soon.

Welcome to The Dabbling Duck

The Dabbling Duck has three owners, there are two local farmers who stepped in to save the  pub from re-development in 2006, the third is Mark Dobby who was brought in to manage the pub in 2013.

Mark has had excellent experience in award winning pubs and hotels for over ten years which has made him well-qualified to elevate the Dabbling Duck to another level. He is joined by his wife Sally, who is herself no stranger to hospitality having been co-owner of a local bistro for five years. Their black Labrador Doris is also a regular in the bar! Sally is a professional photographer you may see some of her prints in the rooms and around the pub.

Wherever possible the produce used in the kitchens is locally sourced often from our own land. The Dabbling Duck is particularly proud of its game dishes, according to the season pheasant, partridge, pigeon, woodcock, rabbit and venison are all prepared on site. You can’t run a successful pub without a great team both front of house and “backstage” and we have a fantastic one! Many of our employees are also local to this beautiful part of Norfolk which makes them hopefully able to answer any questions you may have about the area…..

You can now regain the taste of #IntheBarn with our new takeaway service and online ordering system for diners sitting in the barn, garden and outside area.

Our fabulous new indoor/outdoor traditional oak barn is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings serving takeaway or #eatinthebarn street food and pizzas from our wood-fired ovens. The Dabbling Duck team are pleased to showcase the newest member of the family, ‘MUCKY DUCK’ GIN.

Using 13 different botanicals we’ve crafted what we believe to be easy drinking gin for any occasion. A refreshing gin, with citrus led depth from grapefruit, lemon and orange peel, balanced with black pepper, coriander and liquorice.
