I have been waiting for the sun to come out to do

I have been waiting for the sun to come out to do these beautiful knitted poppies justice with a picture.

They adorn St Mary’s church in Snettisham, Girlguides, scout groups and local people of all ages have knitted and crocheted more than 2,000 of the flowers for a tribute.

Organisers from Snettisham Royal British Legion (RBL), said the branch celebrated its 100th anniversary back in April and wanted to do something special.

We are pleased to say that our Seafood Festival this weekend will be raising money for the @wellsrnli and we hope that all that will be joining us, will put an extra £1 or 2 in the bucket .

We still have a few tables available, pre booking is advisable especially in the evening and we do require a £15 per person deposit. Children are of course welcome and our normal duckling menu will be available for them.

This is Jack Loose on his boat, his family have been supplying mussels for generations. Jack is learning all the ropes from his dad Tim and it is brilliant to see. We will be serving Loose Mussels at our festival.

Our SEAFOOD FESTIVAL ON 15TH AND 16TH NOVEMBER, is a month away so we thought we would introduce our singers, bands and shanty-singers! Remember you don't have to be eating with us to enjoy the music, they will all mostly be, located in our barn which provides lots of room for everyone. We will be serving pizza as well, just incase you do need a little something with that pint!

Friday 15th
6.30pm The Blakeney Old Wild Rovers Shantymen
The Blakeney Old Wild Rovers Shanty and Folk band formed in 1999 and have raised nearly 250,000 for a range of national and local charities. They perform a mix of traditional tunes to humorous local songs at events and concerts

Saturday 16th
12.45pm -2.15pm Sirens At The Helm
In February 2023, a local viewing of the film Fishermans Friends, leaflets promoted the first meeting of Sirens at the Helm at The Shepherds Port, Snettisham, near the beach. Ten interested ladies came along and the rest is history.

4pm Tom Mallay
A Singer, songwriter from the East of England, influenced by Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and blues music, singing from the heart and soul.

6.30pm Sheringham Shantymen
During 1988 a group of local lifeboat men and friends formed a sea shanty singing group to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the private sailing and pulling Sheringham lifeboat the ‘Augusta’. They enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to continue. Although the groups members nowadays are from a variety of occupations they have remained true to their roots and still maintain a very close connection with the RNLI.

9pm Hot Stove 3
Hot Stove 3 have been writing thought provoking songs, taking you on a journey through life's twists and turns since '21. Their vast shared musical experience totalling over 150 years allows them to jump from 70's Folk to Klezmer to Irish jigs. Expect Harmonies, Harmonica, Acoustic Guitar, Electric bass.
