Wellbeing Retreat Weekend

Sally from The Dabbling Duck and Helen from Norfolk Pilates Coach have teamed up to bring to you a weekend retreat to nurture the soul. The purpose of our retreat is to create a space to reconnect, cleanse and take a break from your busy life and let yourself just ‘be’. You will return from our retreat feeling empowered and relaxed.

Helen has 20 years’ experience as a Pilates instructor and personal trainer. Joseph Pilates coined the term ‘Intelligent Exercise’ and that is what Helen is most passionate about; that Pilates works to improve your health and fitness whether it’s for rehabilitation purposes or to enhance athletic performance. Pilates is beneficial to anyone and everyone to increase strength, mobility, and flexibility. Alongside offering her skills as a Pilates instructor in her group classes over the weekend, Helen will also be offering personal one to one session. These can be booked prior to arrival or during the weekend (subject to availability) at a special price of £35 for 1 hour and £20 for 30 minutes. Helen will also be around all weekend to offer advice too. Further, if you particularly enjoy the small props class, the Pilates props will be available for you to purchase to take home to continue the skills you gain from the weekend!

The talented team at The Dabbling Duck believe that to eat well doesn’t mean you should miss out on delicious fulfilling food. The head chef Dale and sous chef Tom will create menus that will both be nourishing and will make you smile. Our team will showcase how vegetarian and vegan food can be fun and healthy as well as meat free!

Although we have tailored the weekend to nurture your body and mind, there are no set rules, so if you fancy that chilled glass of wine while you start that book you have been meaning to read, please do! You will also have one free night to indulge yourself how you wish. The Dabbling Duck pub is located next door. Breakfast and lunch are included in your package. On Saturday and Sunday, your day will start with an exciting buffet offering a selection of fresh fruit bowls, overnight oat pots, mixed nuts and seeds, homemade sourdough breads, homemade granolas, green juices, and super smoothies. On Saturday we will break for lunch with delicious kimchi salads, homemade soups, and fresh breads, spelloto mixed bean salad, roasted fig and tonka bean panacotta or matcha mochi ice cream balls.

On Friday evening, you will be treated to a private chef’s table dining experience at Barrack House, where head chef Dale Smith will be serving delicious vegan and vegetarian food and answering all your culinary questions.

We have also arranged for you to visit the exhibition by Sean Scully – ‘Smaller Than the Sky’ – at Houghton Hall, located just a few miles up the road. A world-famous artist, he will be taking over both Houghton Hall grounds and the hall.

We are passionate about your individual preferences and aim to help you relax in a way that best suits you. Therefore, throughout the weekend there will be ‘free time’ for you to take advantage of. Whether this is using the sauna box and ice bath, enjoying the comfort of the beautiful Barrack House to read, journal or nap, exploring the
local area, or booking in for a beauty treatment or personal Pilates session, the choice is yours…!

Friday

Check in is from 3pm
When everyone has arrived, we will be having a welcome chat, exploring the weekends offerings and plans.
Free time until 8pm when we will be sitting down for a chef’s table supper at Barrack House.

Saturday

Group visit to Houghton Hall Sean Scully Exhibition this will be probably take a few hours.
You can take your own vehicles to allow flexibility for the rest of your day, where you have free time.

Your free evening to dine where you like! The Dabbling Duck pub is located next door and you can pre book a table.

Prices:

£375 per person based on two people sharing a room.
What’s included – breakfast, lunch, 1 x supper on Friday, 2 x Pilates classes with Helen, unlimited use of the Sauna Box & Ice Bath, tickets to Sean Scully exhibition at Houghton Hall. Unlimited soft drinks and arrival drinks.

Terms and conditions
We require the whole amount on booking. Should you wish to cancel a booking and receive a full refund one month’s notice is required.

Therapists

We have also lined up a selection of wonderful, recommended therapists if you would like to add a massage or facial to complete your weekend. These need to be pre-booked with the therapist and fitted in at your own discretion. Appointments must be made at least a week prior to the event.
